September 2008

Sept. - 2 Checked Fresh Tracks
Sept. - 3 Checked RRG
Sept. - 12 Checked Fresh Tracks
Sept. - 14 Went by RRG - all okay
Sept - 18 Checked Fresh Tracks from west side.
Sept. - 21 Checked RRG from south side. Looked like cattle were in on north end. Went up there and there were cattle there. Baca County was declared a disaster area due to the drought this summer and the CRP land was opened to grazing. The CRP field on the southeast corner of RRG was rented out for grazing. You only have a two wire fence between RRG and that CRP field. This is a fence out state and you are supposed to have a three wire fence to keep cattle out. You probably out to remember to fix that problem when the field comes out of CRP or if there is another disaster designation.

Any way, we went by there later and the owners of the cattle had the cattle out.
Sept. - 23 Checked Fresh Tracks
Sept. - 28 Neighbors moved cattle out of CRP field by RRG Checked Fresh Tracks and drove along east and north sides. You wouldn’t believe how much the grass has grown since it rained. Sure looks good down here!
Have been seeing quite a few Pronghorns, Hawks and the smaller birds are gathering up in flocks to fly south. We hear and see the geese and Sand Hill Cranes heading south so, winter will soon be here.
