April 1 - Checked water and saw bison. Curlews are back - we saw 18 in one bunch just east of RRG. Checked Fresh Tracks, saw a Sparrow Hawk, Meadow larks and Ravens. Drove down the road past the Bison Ranch today and saw 7 antelope just south of there. The guys have spent a couple of days fixing fence up by Fresh Tracks so have gone over the west side that joins the Wiley pasture.

April 2 - Robbins have put cattle in so we go thru or by Fresh tracks nearly every day now. The roads are dry enough to travel on now, but I have not seen anyone up there - just see the birds flying around. Actually see the ravens on the grass getting insects, grubs

out of the ground.

April 7 - Checked water on RRG. Cold and windy with snow showers all day - did not see any wildlife. Seven Antelope grazing south of the house - of course they had to go in front of us and under the fence into the bison pasture.

April 12 - The bison were on the west side, just across the fence from us today, as the guys were fixing the fence. No activity to see on Fresh Tracks.

April 13 - After a couple of nice, warm days, it started raining last night and today it snowed all day! Tonight there is at least fourteen inches of the white stuff on the ground.

April 14 - Snowed more last night with quite a bit of wind so there are some four foot drifts today. It is a white world again! This afternoon it started to melt and now it is so muddy you can hardly get around. Three head of livestock in Fresh Tracks but no way to get them out in the mud.

April 15 - You wouldn’t believe the water on the prairie today. There is water everywhere -just standing in the grass. The bison have plenty of water anywhere. Got the cattle out of Fresh Tracks and fixed the fence where the snow had drifted and broke it down.

April 19 - Saw the bison up on the north side today - all okay. Checked Fresh Tracks.

April 21 - Saw the bison and checked water on RRG. Drove through fresh Tracks. The first Hummingbird of the season came to my feeder today. That is about a week ahead of time so i had to hurry to get a feeder out.

April 22 - Saw the bison at a distance today. The Sand Lillies are blooming profusely today.

April26 - Saw bison today - Fresh Tracks has lots of birds.

April 30 - Checked water RRG today. Bison were just across the fence on Road DD. They look good - have lost their winter coat and are slicked up. Saw one prairie dog sticking his nose out of his hole. It was late in the day and windy or we would have seen more. There are quite a few holes that look active. The temperature has been up in the 70's and 80's the last couple of days. Unless you were here to see it, you wouldn’t believe how fast the grass has grown. Most of the birds are back - the Western Kingbirds, Mocking birds, Doves, Black birds to name a few and the eagles in our pasture have hatched out. The wild flowers are starting to bloom. Everything looks good for now.
